These terms govern the expectations and responsibilities surrounding our photographic services and define the legal relationship between J&M Photography and its clients. If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from using our website or services.
J&M Photography is an independently operated small business, functioning as a sole trader and not currently registered as a limited company under UK law. While we strive to follow professional standards and ethical practices, some statutory rights, protections, or regulations applicable to registered commercial entities may not apply to our business structure. All engagements are entered into in good faith, based on transparent communication and mutual respect.
Our services include portrait photography, event coverage, commercial shoots, and other sessions as described on the website or via direct communication. Each booking must be confirmed via written agreement, typically over email, and requires full payment upfront unless another arrangement is mutually agreed upon in advance. We accept payment via bank transfer or other methods as discussed during booking. No booking is considered confirmed until payment has been received or a payment schedule has been approved in writing. Please note that failure to meet agreed payment deadlines may result in cancellation or suspension of services.
Refunds are not automatic and are considered at our sole discretion. If you cancel your session, partial refunds may be available depending on how much preparatory work has been completed and the timing of your cancellation. Cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled session will generally not qualify for any refund. Clients are encouraged to reach out as early as possible in case of changes to avoid forfeiting any potential refund eligibility.
Clients are responsible for providing accurate personal details and preferences when booking and for ensuring availability during scheduled shoots. Cooperation during sessions is essential to achieving the best results. We aim to deliver professionally edited photographs that reflect our artistic style within 2–4 weeks of the session, although delivery may vary depending on workload and complexity. If delivery is delayed due to factors such as illness, technical issues, or client-requested edits, we will communicate openly about any revised timeframe. You acknowledge that delivery timelines are estimates, and J&M Photography is not liable for minor delays.
Final images may be shared via a secure online gallery, direct USB transfer, or via email as downloadable files or secure folder links. When delivery is conducted via email, clients are responsible for accessing the photos in a timely manner. Links may expire or be filtered by spam settings, and J&M Photography is not liable for data loss due to expired links, inaccessible inboxes, or failure to back up files. We strongly advise saving all delivered content immediately to a secure location.
All photographs produced remain the intellectual property of J&M Photography. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive license to use the images for viewing, printing, and sharing. You may not modify, resell, redistribute, or use the photos for commercial purposes without written permission. J&M Photography retains the right to use selected photographs for portfolio display, website content, social media posts, printed promotions, and advertisements, unless you explicitly request otherwise before or during the booking process.
We strive for professionalism in every session, but we cannot be held liable for unforeseen events such as weather disruptions, last-minute location changes, equipment failure, or accidental data loss. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or offer alternative solutions. Our financial liability, in any event, is limited to the amount paid by the client for the specific session in question.
